Exponents

The whole thing is a power.
The smaller top number is an exponent.
The larger bottom number is a base.
The exponent tells us how many times to multiply the base.
In this power you would multiply the base which is 5 three times. It would look like this: 5x5x5 in factored form and 125 in standard form.

so if i had a number such as 3 to the exponent 5, the factored form would be 3x3x3x3x3 and then the standard form would be 243 ???
